On January 7th, a rumor arose out of nowhere that Go Kyung-pyo had taken a photo of himself having sex with a woman at an unmanned photo studio in Busan. As a result, the actor found himself in an embarrassing situation as the name of the unmanned store appeared as a related search term.
As a result, his agency CL&COMPANY released an official statement addressing the matter, saying, “Recently, baseless rumors about our artist Go Kyung-pyo have been recklessly spread and reproduced on online platforms and social media.”
The statement continued, “This constitutes a serious criminal act that damages the honor and character of the artist. We are closely monitoring the situation and will take strong legal action against malicious slander, the dissemination of false information and its reckless reproduction.” The agency emphasized, “Following this notice, any illegal activities will be met with strict legal action without any settlement or leniency. We will continue to work diligently to protect the rights of our artists and the fans who cheer for them.”
Additionally, on the afternoon of the same day, Go Kyung-pyo posted a photo through his SNS Story, writing, “Don’t worry. I’m not that crazy. Let’s see what happens to these lunatics.”
In the photo, Go Kyung-pyo is seen inside a self-photo booth, striking playful poses such as a V-sign and a heart gesture with his hands. His bright smile captures attention.
However, it seems that Go Kyung-po’s resentment still remained, and on the following day, January 8th, he once again stated his position on SNS, saying, “I have been embarrassed by the many crazy people who mentioned my name in embarrassing and dirty rumors and spread them as if they were true,” adding, “They say that Internet culture is getting worse day by day, but seeing things turn out this way for nothing makes me worried about the many people who will suffer this kind of damage in the future. I will organize it well, set a somewhat just precedent, and respond strongly to those who consider themselves less than human.”
Nevertheless, the actor also expressed this as an opportunity to turn things around and shared new news such as filming a project and appearing on a variety show. He said, “I want to share some good news since I’ve been receiving attention for something completely unrelated,” and “It would be a shame to miss out on this much attention. A crisis is an opportunity, and there are opportunities too.”
